...Black doesnt seem to have read Wests book...
He's not the first; I predict he won't be the last, either. I've now tried to post this comment five times; all I've received is a blank page.

I can still hear the Progressive chants of my youth: “FDR Akbar”.

He must be proud of FDR's carrying in the racist tradisonts of the party of the Confederacy.
FDR rounded up hundreds of thousands of US citizens based soley on their race.
Put them in camps.

FDR (and the FED) made an ordinary depression “Great.”
The more I read about FDR’s policies and politics, the more I see Obama. A knee-jerk leftist by nature, fantasy progressive plans that didn’t work in reality, devious politics (such as his court-packing planning), attacks on business, class-warfare, and attempts to organize under government control all major markets from labor to utilities to housing.

When Conrad Black appeared on Laura Ingraham's radio show in 2003 to promote his doorstop of a hagiography Franklin Delano Roosevelt: Champion of Freedom (New York: Public Affairs, 2003), he seemed to have Laura mesmerized--she was uncharacteristically gushy and starry-eyed and only tossed him a few softball questions. Why does Black appeal to conservatives?

He’s still far better than any kind of feminist or homo-activist.

In FDR's second term, his Secretary of the Treasury Henry Morgenthau lamented that he and his Keynesian progressives had tried everything, but none of it had worked. In reality, Hoover had tried the same kind of economic voodoo before FDR won his first term and it didn't work either. Nothing succeeds in government policy like failure, so FDR borrowed from Hoover's economic polices, injected his own, and fed them steroids. Even on steroids, the policies didn't work.
Morgenthau wrote in his diary: “We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work. ... We have never made good on our promises. ... I say after eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started ... and an enormous debt to boot!”

Few have heard of Whittaker Chambers and the Venona Papers..
FDR was a traitor... and so was Harry Truman.. both did nothing about the communists they both knew worked FOR them..
Truman even aided the Chinese communists as much as he could get away with.. McArthur would have cleaned up China.. and zeroed in on Russia.. both paper tigers at that time.. with help from Chaing Kai-Shek.. Truman screwed it all up... I not convinced it was not on purpose.. But then he was a democrat..

Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
The Idiot on the Dime.
Prolonged the Depression until Tojo and Hitler changed the focus. Fortunately, after the War, there was no Fifth Term ...
