Christie will sign bill that bans gay conversion therapy

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) on Monday will announce that he plans to sign a bill that will ban the practice of trying to convert gay children to a heterosexual lifestyle, according to an aide.

Christie’s office had previously made clear that the governor doesn’t believe in gay conversion therapy, but it had not said whether he would sign the bill passed by the legislature.

Christie said months ago that, despite his personal opposition, he wasn’t sure whether the government should legislate the therapy.

“I still have those concerns,” he plans to say Monday. “Government should tread carefully into this area, and I do so here reluctantly. I have scrutinized this piece of legislation with that concern in mind.”

Christie is choosing to side with depravity and perversion.

...not to mention the fact that such a ban is completely unconstitutional.

Keep voting to empower Republicans folks. Just do it silently. The rest of us are sick of the excuses.

Why not ban attempts to cure all other mental illnesses as well? Makes as much sense!

So, people who were molested as children and pursued homosexuality due to the resulting confusion, should not be counseled?

Meanwhile it will remain perfectly legal to give hormones to prepubescent children so they can be transsexuals.

The “R” behind his name must simply stand for “rotund”.

Sounds like they've passed a law limiting the behavior of two consenting adults.

They've become caricatures of themselves.

“So, people who were molested as children and pursued homosexuality due to the resulting confusion, should not be counseled?”

By the way Guv, does it bother you that 80% of homosexuals were molested as minors?

Or, do you believe 100% of homosexuals were “born that way”?

Because you see Guv, if only 1% were NOT “born that way”, you are now denying them treatment.

If the therapy works for some, then why not have it available?
The government has no business banning or mandating any treatment.
If a treatment is shown to be harmful, there are other venues to stop it.
Christie is caving to the pro-gay lobby.

That’s becasue Dr. Christie made a determination that all gays are born that way. Some are - some are not.

This is so disorganized and unconstitutional on the basis of mere school choice.

We might call it an extention of Obamacare... and indeed, SOCIALIZED “MEDICINE” IS BEHIND ALL THIS... as well as now SOCIALIZED SPEECH AND RELIGIOUS STATE GUIDELINES.

Meet the doctor nuts dictatorships.

Democrates and progressism always steals identities and hijacks parties. Complete frauds.

More and more this country’s behavior looks more and more like the incoherent disorganized mesh of bumper sticker slogans riding on the back of a liberal SEIU Obama nut.

We are chasing gauge needles of media looks instead of having coherent policies.

Insanity has the nation by the throat and no one knows what they are doing.

Yep, like it or not, Christie and Bloomberg are the Republican party. As is Romney.

Form up and count off.
