The scenario you described would not likely be a problem, assuming the brothers were from a different family.

In Hunterdon County my mom’s aunt married a man with the same last name... he wasn’t directly related, however. I also dated a girl that was living near where my family had roots in Hunterdon... and found out we were like sixth cousins related by marriage.
