I run under the assumption that most of the people that shop at WalMart can’t afford places that are less annoying. I suppose it’s possible actually shop there voluntarily.
I’ve only been to WalMart 4 or 5 times in my life because it’s a 20-minute drive and I can get pretty good prices with a 30-second drive to my local store. However, I never found WalMart particularly “annoying.”
“I suppose its possible actually shop there voluntarily.”
I make six figures and I shop there. There is a reason I am debt free. I don’t pay more than I have to and I watch my money. I can get just about everything at walmart. Some of the stores are indeed skanky but there is a realy nice one out in the country near Houston where I live, It is always CLEAN and stocked really nicely. I can get everything I need in one trip and generally pay less for than other places. There are some items I wont by from there like tools I get from my snapon dealer or go to Sears for Craftsman.
It is easy, good products at good price.
The Free Republic myth is that walmart = china. That is ignorance and class fear speaking
Walmart is the best business in the country an much of the world.
How annoying it is depends upon the customers, and that depends upon the particular location. The experience at some stores is like a flea market in Guatemala, while at others it is like shopping at a nice clean supermarket. A big one.
I do, several times a week. Why should I pay more than what WMT charges? I could go to Publix or Kroger where shopping is a social event and pay more, but why?
My only real complaint with WMT is the checkout. Store management doesn't pay enough attention to this.
