Although pundits and polls don’t consider Santorum is be a strong contender for 2016 now, he does have the potential to be a Dark Horse candidate. If the GOPe continued its push to be gay friendly and push aside social conservatives, they may rally around Santorum once again to send a message.

I don’t dislike him but I hope it never comes to having to choose between him and somebody else.

I thought that Santorum was the best of the candidates who were in the running last time around. And evidently Romney and the press thought so too, since they never ceased bashing him. He was ahead of Newt Gingrich, who steadily ran third, and only stayed in the race until Santorum was eliminated.

I think Sarah Palin is a much stronger candidate, but I’d settle for Rick. He is a conservative with genuine moral principles, which you can’t say about many of them.

I didn’t much care for him in the beginning but really grew to like him. He really brought the right message to Michigan about direct job creation through elimination of the tax on manufacturing and regulatory cuts. Anyone who has ever spent time in a factory knew exactly what he was talking about.

It looks like there may be several RINOs lining up to run in the next election: Rubio, Christie, Jeb, etc.

Wouldn't it be nice this time if there was just one truly conservative candidate who could trounce all his/her RINO opponents who split the RINO vote amongst themselves?

Of course we will get the same nonsense as we got the last couple of times: just as many wingnut conservatives going against compromised RINOs.

In the end it will be one RINO vs. one wingnut and the RINO will end up as our candidate.

The GOPe might find him useful in splitting enough of the conservative primary vote to get Jeb or similar in as the designated loser for 2016. Assuming Santorum somehow became the nominee...hello Hillary (or worse). The guy just can’t seem to appeal much beyond the very religious Christian segment of the electorate. I think he’s too easy to paint as a “Bible thumping zealot” to get enough independent voters, even if the GOP rallied behind him. The Obamedia would eat him for breakfast. Not saying it’s right, but you know it’s what they will do.

Santorum would lose 48 states.
