Egypt's presidency has declared a state of emergency after scores of people were killed when security forces stormed protest camps in Cairo.
The camps had been occupied by supporters of former president Mohammed Morsi, who was deposed in early July.
Security forces say 95 people have been killed, but the Muslim Brotherhood says hundreds have died.

Islamist understand only one thing; the willingness to use overwhelming force against them.
The government of Egypt is only doing what is necessary.
The opening stages of an open civil war that began with the removal of Mubarak.
Now we’re going to give the opposition military equipment to destroy the military equipment we gave to the government. LOL
I know...the 4 is too much club....hand me the 6.
Ironically Mursi remains the most influential man in Egypt. If he is killed or remains imprisoned, he becomes an Islamic icon and martyr. If when he is finally seen or heard and remains defiant, a prolonged civil conflict will only get worse. Egypt is already poor. Soon the Arab donors will tire of expensive subsidies. The EU and the US should prepare for hordes of impoverished but still fervent Muslim refugees.
Pro-Morsi activists were chased into the nearby zoo ....
Good place for them!!!
I don’t know what the big deal is. Bloodshed and killing is simply the national pastime in middle east countries. Kinda like baseball and football here at home. Let em have their fun.
Sadat ruled under a national emergency 1970-1981.
Mubarak ruled under a national emergency 1981-2012.
Morsi the pinhead ruled under similar conditions 2012-2013.
Gen. Sisi (what a name!) will now do the same and the MB will go back underground, where it should be.
What is clear, is that in order to rule in Egypt you need to declare such a state just to keep the MB in the sewers and believe me, Cairo's sewers are 100 times nastier than, say, New York's...
Egypt is toast. Like all muslim dominated countries, ever shifting alliances stir perpetual conflict. A good many of those supporting the military today, voted for Morsi yesterday and they very likely will support his kind again at some point. The problem is that Egyptian families are on both sides of the issue. A father and all but one brother may support government today but when that one brother is killed or imprisoned, the loyalties will flip.
The only refugees we should ever accept from a muslim country are those we know are Christian or Jewish.
What libs don’t understand is that a democratic or republican form of government is incompatible with Islam.
It never has been and never will be.
Mr. President, you've got a decision to make.
I know...the 4 is too much club....hand me the 6.
On the famous "bright side" that sometimes does and sometimes doesn't shed much light, the more time President You Didn't Build That spends on golf courses, the less time he has to devote to hatred of America.
I know...the 4 is too much club....hand me the 6.
THAT is a winner right there! Bravo!
Frankly, I prefer Obama when he’s on the golf course, as far as I’m concerned, he can golf all he wants.

Exactly! You beat me to it. With the exception of Israel, the world would be a decidedly better place if that part of the world were just a barren uninhabited wasteland.
Hillary loves the smell of Arab Spring in the morning.
It is horrifying that so many have been killed.
Egypt is falling into the last days and will become what His word says. The shaping continues...
W didn't understand that neither.
Egypt’s future is in Isaiah 19. A rough ride until the Jewish Messiah comes, and then they will have peace and wellbeing.
