Snowden: NSA targeted journalists critical of government after 9/11

Edward Snowden accused the National Security Agency of targeting reporters who wrote critically about the government after the 9/11 attacks and warned it was “unforgivably reckless” for journalists to use unencrypted email messages when discussing sensitive matters.

Snowden said in an interview with the New York Times Magazine published Tuesday that he came to trust Laura Poitras, the documentary filmmaker who, along with Guardian reporter Glenn Greenwald, helped report his disclosure of secret surveillance programs, because she herself had been targeted by the NSA.

“Laura and [Guardian reporter] Glenn [Greenwald] are among the few who reported fearlessly on controversial topics throughout this period, even in the face of withering personal criticism, and resulted in Laura specifically becoming targeted by the very programs involved in the recent disclosures,”

I've suspected Snowden was an Obama/Hillary operative from the very beginning and the more he opens his mouth the more I'm convinced I'm right.

It appears Snowden’s mission is to try and make people believe Hillary and Obama’s “spontaneous” lie about Benghazi for the most part was accurate.

The “spontaneous” lie is nothing more complicated than the terrorist are so in tune with the news, the terrorist picked up on a news story, the protest in Egypt, and spontaneously planned an attack without prior planning or preparations.

The idea is to make people believe the terrorist are picking up on news stories and planning their terrorist attacks around the news instead of the news being orchestrated for the terrorist attacks.

If the news is being orchestrated for the attacks then people in this country have to be collaborating with the terrorist because the terrorist don't have the ability to orchestrate the news.

Only the left in this country has the ability to orchestrate the news at the drop of a hat, so they want you to believe Bush investigated as to whether or not the left was orchestrating the news for the attacks and found nothing.

Since the Bush adm and the Obama adm have both acknowledged the importance of the news to the terrorist attacks and the Bush adm didn't find anyone involved with orchestrating the news for the attacks (no one was arrested), Hillary and Obama were for the most part correct that the terrorist simply pick up on the news and plan their attacks around it.

Snowden just outed himself as a Hillary/Obama operative.

BTW, the al Qaeda doc. from OBL recovered in Afghanistan makes it clear, the news is being orchestrated for the attacks.

Snowden names no names, and after 9/11 there was all sorts of second-guessing in the press, all the critiques that the administration had "failed to connect the dots" and so forth. If the NSA "targeted" journalists, Snowden offers no proof nor was there any evidence that the media were somehow living in fear of the NSA or the Bush administration.

All sorts of bogus claims are made after the fact. For example, when the Iraq war turned sour, journalists began claiming that there had been a "rush" to war, that there was no debate, that the war's rationale was never examined. In fact, the war was debated for months, there were massive public demonstrations against it, and the whole thing was submitted to Congress for approval.

It is not clear if he mean 9.11 2001. or the last round of 9.11 attacks.

But it should be fairly clear that with the way the govt has gotten everyting set up now, encryption does not help. The govt isn’t above using backdors on your own computer and snatching every passwords right at your keyboard.

Better to keep everything open, transparent, and locked by crosslinks, backups and hostile protection schemes. There’s ways to make any attempt on you or your data painful in the most interesting and entertaining manner.

That's funny because I've suspected 0buma/Hitlery would have murdered Snowden had he remained in the country after exposing THEIR Administration of conducting a 300 million person witch-hunt for THEIR ENN-ESS-AYE, SEE-EYE-AYE and EYE-R-ESS. I guess tearing the Constutution to shreds technically DID make Snowden an "operative" OR "spy" in behalf of 0buma/Hitlery -- depending how much kool-ade you want to guzzle.

In any case, OBL was apparently *your* 9/11 boogieman (presumably because that's the role W Bush bestowed upon him for six months -- at which time Bush stated he no longer cared what happened to him.)

OBL was eliminated at Tora Bora a looong time ago. His value remained as a phantom political boogieman..."to kinda keep catapulting the propaganda." (Bush's own words quoted.)

But gee -- wasn't it nice that B. Hussein was able cash in those political chips in time for the election?
