U.S. Secret Service documents show that the agency played a key role in the investigation of free-information activist Aaron Swartz and watched his case closely until he committed suicide.

I think Swartz’ (26) fate is as suspicious as Breitbart (43), Okrent (29), and Hastings (33).. Did I miss anyone?
..Chris Kyle (38) American hero, God rest his soul and may God stop Ventura’s harassment of his wife too.
I really do think he committed suicide but there is such a thing as driving someone to commit suicide.
There is something rotten in the state of Denmark.
Nachum should be chiming in any moment. LOL
OK, I am puzzled. So far as I know, Aaron Swartz was not a threat to government officials or practicing counterfeit of any type of monetary instruments. I know that the Secret Service does other things but what was their reason for “TRACKING”, which implies a studied interest and action over a significant length of time!?
I did find it notable that Mr Swartz’s funeral had Congressman Issa (R-CA) and Senator Warren (D-MA) sitting together, as this death brought together the libertarian right and left together (loosely defined).
I don’t see Jim Thompson on that list.

SS investigates computer crimes, not the FBI.
Name them Ping them.
That’s FRules
I think FBI has concurrent or overlapping jurisdiction to investigate computer crimes
So, why would MIT keep scholarly articles secret? What are they hiding?
Someone threw the names of 25 people who don’t like Obama on a sheet of paper and got PAID for it? Seriously??
I don’t think the articles were secret; they were available by subscription, and Swartz thought they should be free. I think the feds actually had a point with the indictment but they were really making an example of Swartz with overcharging to maximize incarceration, and I personally thought that was overthetop and unfair.
