The only concerrn I have is that Texas did elect Ma Richards.
Back in the Yellow Dog democrat days. Also, it was easier when her main competition shot himself in the foot.
Ma Richards won with the more traditional Democrat class warfare “yer gettin’ SCROOOOOOD!” platform.
Davis is all-abortion-all-the-time. Since I’m sure that ranks at the VERY TOP of issues for those electing the next Texas Governor. /SARC sarcsarcsarcsarcsarc
If it weren’t for one stupid remark by Clayton Williams that the SRM played 24/7, she would had zero terms as TX governor.
There was a different mindset to the voting public back then...It is a little different now...
Davis may very well gsarner the primary support and face whomever tyhe “R’s” select that she’ll have to face in some very interesting debates and public appearances...
I believe bags of apple juice, in flourecent Nike sneakers, and blithering nonsense by hecklers will be priceless...
If all that is her only claim to fame, she stands NO chance against whatever ends up surviving the primary on the “R” side of the equation...
I see the main players in that primary to be Jerry Patterson, Greg Abbott, Dan Patrick...All of whom hold a current position in State government...
Dan is a grandstanding State Senator, that has a few good positions on social issues...He also has his own radio program that gives him the bully pulpit for those that listen to him regularly...
Jerry Patterson, the current Texas Land Commissioner, is a long time office holder, solid conservative, has had some questionable ties to some shinanigans in regards to redistricting, eminent domain issues, is extremely pro-Second Amendment and has a very loyal and informed support base of voters ALL over the state...
Greg Abbott, is our current AG, and has been on the forefront of facing off with the Feds in D.C. on many States Rights issues, it will be hard to beat him and his support base IMO...
Both GReg Abbott and Jerry Patterson have my support, and either of them will make a good Governor for this state...They both have their detractors and people that absolutely will never support them for very specific reasons, and those reason IMO do have merit, it is just a question of whom will get the nod of the voters through the primary...
When the race comes down to whom will be having to deal with Wendy Davis (d), I do not believe this will be one of those times where it will require some people to hold their noses at the polls next year...
If we could only break the stranglehold of the Strauss goofballs, we might be able to really recognify the state of Texas as a solid Red State...Otherwise, I’d hate to think that we’d have to endure being a battle ground state nationally...I would rather that stay with the wishy-washy states for now...
Just my opinion...
