A wave of bomb attacks hit Iraq over the weekend, as people celebrated the Eid al-Fitr festival marking the end of Ramadan, with more than 60 reported dead.
The BBC reported that 11 bombs targeted both Shiite and Sunni areas of the capital, Baghdad, hitting cafes, markets and restaurants in at least nine different districts.
A bomb also killed at least 10 people in Tuz Khurmato, north of the capital.
This Ramadan in Iraq is thought to have been one of the deadliest in years, with more than 670 people killed.
Most of the violence in the past six months has involved Sunni Islamist militant groups targeting Shiite Muslim districts.
More than 4,000 people have died in such attacks this year. A further 9,865 have been injured, with Baghdad province the worst hit, reported the BBC.

We Christians have the same problem at the end of the Easter season.
Muslims go around attacking each other then, too?
All those mutilated chocolate bunnies. The horror...

LOL Can’t sleep! Now everybody settle down here so I can get some rest.
OOOPS! I just remembered the Easter Sunday that I put big bunny ears on our Irish Setter and my son and I took her for a walk. People were laughing so hard that one girl fell off her bike. So we Christians DO cause harm after a long fast.
Aw, they’re just blowing off a little steam.
Well maybe it is - this new regime in Iraq is the result of Bush’s decisions.
Iraq is indeed in great devestation, and the violence is relentless.
i’d be shocked if ramadama click boom didn’t end this way.
Kinda like Detroit when the Pistons win the NBA finals.
Actually it was Bush’s fault somewhat. At the risk of sounding like a liberal we should have never invaded Iraq bad as Sadam Hussein was the country was a buffer against Iran and warring factions. Our military died in Iraq for what? Democracy and islam are incompatible and its time the political geniuses realize it.
It's good he/she didn't bite you.
should have never invaded Iraq
We had it won until Big Brother took office. Iran was ready to toss out their crazies but he sided with the whack jobs running the country. A successful revolt in Iran would have been a game changer.
Gimme that ol time religion...
They don't quite fit,do they? There's clearly something special about this "Religion of Peace".
I was just about to post that!
We should have bought hussein (we did in the 80’s) and turned him toward Iran. You cannot bring freedom and liberty to islam... it will never happen... you cannot bring the light of truth into hell.
