In John Barron's book "Mig Pilot: The Final Escape of Lt. Belenko" about Viktor Belenko's defection from the Soviet Union, Lt Belenko references an expression used in the Soviet military to describe the relationship between Soviet commanders and their underlings:
"I will urinate in your eyes and you will call it holy water."
Pretty much sums up how the Democrats view their constituency.
