John Roberts said that ObamaCare was legal because Congress has a right to tax the people. Unfortunately, John Roberts forgot that the Constitution says that they have a right to tax the people so long as it is apportioned among the States which was based on Census data.

It took a Constitutional Amendment (16th) to allow Congress to tax the people in their income, allowing them to separate the apportioning and Census-related requirements.

Apparently, this is no longer a requirement in our ever-green Constitution! John Roberts completely IGNORED the Constitution and made this law what he wanted it to be, I assume to curry favor with those who will NEVER accept nor acknowledge that favor - the liberals/Democrats/Communists/Statists/Marxists, etc...

Roberts got it wrong, but let’s not overlook the other four justices who get most things wrong.

Please see post #21, to see whereby this is still unconstitutional because it goes AGAINST the Constitution based on the apportionment requirements!

John Roberts IGNORED the Constitution - PERIOD. And that is regardless of the lies, distortions, tweaks, twists and turns it took to get it to the Supreme Court.

Using the convoluted reasoning that went into Robert's ruling, when a conservative gets into office he should require every able American to purchase a firearm. If not, you get fined (taxed, whatever) until you do.

Then sit back with some popcorn and beer to watch liberals/progressives heads explode.

Roberts, a spineless, gutless, jerk who’s done as much to destroy the country as his buddy Bam. Appointed by GWB, old man Bush appointed Souter.... never forget.

When whatever his secret is comes out, assuming it's really awful, Roberts the coward will probably resign and fade into oblivion. Then Obama gets to choose another SC judge.

This is going to go down in history (if there is a record of our history after the collapse) as one of the despicable events in US history, that a SC judge would change his vote because they "had" something on him.

Assuming that's the case. Maybe Roberts is just an idiot and a fake conservative.

According to Roberts’ simplistic reasoning, the federal government could legally require everyone to renounce Christianity or pay a tax.

If elements of USG have everything US citizens have expressed upon the Internet & phone lines, this would include the law enforcement personnel (FBI,CIA,local), agency officers (EPA,State and other Depts.), state govenors, judges and congressmen. This clearly enables parts of USG to control them, via blackmail, harassment, IRS etc.:

Maybe key legislative votes and key judicial decisions are bent this way...

Maybe top generals and high level officials are forced to resign, lie or retire this way...

Maybe top law enforcement is told to stop looking for criminals in high places...

Roberts sided with the other Justices that believe it to be Constitutional for a Federal Government to force me to purchase a service (or product) from another private entity. The only requirement is that there be enough members of Congress that can collude to decide which service or product they deem that I need and from whom the purchase should be made.

As a result, Roberts and the other Justices have decided that in the interest of funding children’s health care (via the SCHIP Program) we can require that all citizens greater than 18 years old must purchase a minimum of 2 cartons of cigarettes a month from Phillip Morris or Winston.

With his decision, you are no longer a free individual. You have been enslaved and it was at the direction of the first black President. Irony.....

“I can now see that the mandate is a tax and always was a tax. Roberts did not create a fiction by calling it a tax rather the liberal authors of the bill lied in calling the mandate anything but a tax.”

Yes, the “penalty” is truly a tax, however what would you call the requirement that you spend your earnings on a specific product from another private entity? Roberts deemed it constitutional that you MUST enter a contract at the whim of a heavy handed centralized government.

John Roberts was blackmailed, and here’s why. He met evil and evil won.

Being bullied and Roberts was blackmailed is two different issues. I agree with bullied but blackmailed? I would love to see how and with what, some evidence of it.

Conservatives just don’t throw unfounded accusations out there, we aren’t lying democrats.

Courts don't make laws.

Sure they do: Roe v. Wade.

It was a Democrat stacked cabal in Congress, and a Democrat President, that made OBAMACARE a Constitutionally legal law.

It's not Constitutional, no matter what the USSC says they cannot alter the Constitution — Oh, they want you to believe they can: it's from that that they derive/usurp the power to alter/create law.

“RE: Glenn Beck said he had evidence.

Well, now that he said it publicly, why doesn’t he show it?”

Because Beck is a con man.

He’s a snake oil salesman who has made a very lucrative living telling conservancies what we want to hear. He doesn’t believe it, but he’s willing to peddle it to “those rubes” and keep fattening the ol’ bank account. He’s Dick Morris with even fewer scruples.

If Glenn Beck swears he has the actual evidence in his possession, you can probably bet that there never was any in the first place.

Regarding Roe v Wade, Wikipedia tells us ...

In disallowing many state and federal restrictions on abortion in the United States, Roe v. Wade prompted a national debate that continues today, about issues including whether and to what extent abortion should be legal, who should decide the legality of abortion, what methods the Supreme Court should use in constitutional adjudication, and what the role should be of religious and moral views in the political sphere. Roe v. Wade reshaped national politics, dividing much of the United States into pro-choice and pro-life camps, while activating grassroots movements on both sides.

Given that, it is clear that the Supreme Court was not making law, they were tossing out state laws that outlawed abortion.

The more I learn about Sen. Mike Lee, the more impressed I am. He is really quite the intellectual, as well as one of the few conservative fighters we have.
