Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) recently wrote a book, "Why John Roberts Was Wrong About Healthcare", which is an excellent and compelling read. Besides providing a gripping argument as to why Justice Roberts was wrong on the ObamaCare ruling, Lee also gives an excellent history and background on the Court and the health care decision itself. American Thinker had the privilege of interviewing the Senator about his book and ObamaCare.
His two main arguments in the book point out how ObamaCare has made federalism extravagant and that there appears to no longer be a separation of power among branches. Senator Lee explained to American Thinker, "Too much power is consolidated in Washington versus remaining with the states and the people. There is also too much legislative power being wielded by the Executive and Judicial branches."
In his book, Lee writes, "It undermines federalism inasmuch as it sets a precedent for the Court to 'cure' the constitutional defects in a law found to be unconstitutionally coercive of a state's sovereign powers ... that federal powers are indeed 'few and defined,' while those reserved to the states are 'numerous and indefinite.' My reluctance to embrace that characterization cannot be overstated."
He also directly notes that ObamaCare is obviously a gross expansion of the federal government.
The senator is hoping that Americans take the time to become knowledgeable about this bill and its consequences: "that health care will get a lot more expensive, individuals will have burdens that will bring about penalties under federal law, there will be more part-time jobs without benefits, more massive layoffs, workforce reductions, and a creation of a class system of medicine. There is also going to be a cost to the American taxpayer: nearly $1.8 trillion over the next ten years."

His legacy? Bbbwwwwaaaahhhhhhhaaawwwwwwww.
The problem is pernicious because the pirate Roberts’ blackmailable secret is still hanging over the honorless bastard’s head, to be used on any occasion. And since the traitor has shown he will do as he’s told, his is treachery against the American People.
well said.
Roberts the fag is still blackmailable. He may have other things as well.
“there appears to no longer be a separation of power among branches.”
No longer a separation of parties either.
Roberts was blackmailed. It’s just that simple. Why waste brain cells trying to figure why his thinking was flawed? The only thinking he did was about how he could save himself.
RE: Roberts was blackmailed. Its just that simple.
I keep reading this but nobody shows any evidence at all.
Agreed!
John Roberts was blackmailed into supporting it
Glenn Beck said he had evidence.
And no one raised an eyebrow? If it was FALSE I would imagine they would have screamed bloody murder about his ‘blatant lies’
I believe it is true
Two children illegally adopted. He was affiliated with homosexual organizations early in his legal career.
RE: Glenn Beck said he had evidence.
Well, now that he said it publicly, why doesn’t he show it?
RE: He was affiliated with homosexual organizations early in his legal career.
With gay marriage already being accepted in several states and DOMA IGNORED and the military actually sanctioning gay marriages, how the heck is this blackmail material?
It really doesn't matter. He destroyed at least 1/6 of America's economic freedom. He is the most hated ass in America. Many real patriots have sacrificed themselves for the good of the people. This ass knows that he legislated taxes from the highest bench. I thought the House did that.
Over and over and over ....
No longer a separation of parties either.
Let’s tell the whole truth - there is no longer much separation of voters and we prove it each election.
I can now see that the mandate is a tax and always was a tax.
Roberts did not create a fiction by calling it a tax rather the
liberal authors of the bill lied in calling the mandate anything but a tax.
Like John Roberts cares or will read any criticism.
We are only about a century behind Germany, where Bismarck practically invented the welfare state while denouncing anyone else’s socialism.
As long as we let the government do what it wants with our money, so that we may keep a little of it, we deserve this tyranny. It matters not what anyone says, but where they commit their dollars. Talk can be ignored; money, never.
So say what you will about obamacare, you’ll have as much effect as King Canute on the sea.
