An NTEU Connection in the IRS Scandal?
Townhall.com ^ | 8/7/2013 | Carol Platt Liebau

FEC Commissioner Don McGahn has released a slew of documents that reveal that left-wing partisan rot has set in at the FEC, as well as at the IRS. Among the staff abuses enumerated are: "[U]nauthorized investigations, unsanctioned work with law enforcement, and cases when documents were kept from commissioners. These abuses were largely aimed at investigating conservative political groups."

As Townhall readers know, it now appears that IRS staff (Lois Lerner) colluded with FEC staff to harass the American Issues Project, a sworn enemy of the Obama campaign.

So what do the IRS and the FEC staffs have in common? They are both represented by an extremely powerful government union, the National Treasury Employees Union, as Jeffrey Lord notes.

And although Lord doesn't mention it today, don't forget that:

In short: the very day after the president of the quite publicly anti-Tea Party labor union — the union for IRS employees — met with President Obama, the manager of the IRS “Determinations Unit Program agreed” to open a “Sensitive Case report on the Tea party cases.” As stated by the IG report.

Oh, and don't forget that the NTEU gives over 90% of its donations to Democrats -- which means that, despite its claims to "nonpartisanship," its members have a distinct rooting interest in the outcome of every election.

Is this all coincidence?

”It is impossible to bargain collectively with the government.” … FDR

Why Shulman and not Colleen Kelly?

The Treasury Union and the IRS Agents

THE SMOKING GUN: Obama Met With IRS Union Chief Day Before They Targeted Conservatives…

And to top it off …..

NTEU is strongly urging its members, including the IRS agents tasked with implementing 0bamacare, to oppose 0bamacare for themselves!

End public sector unions now.

And last but not least, the FEC is ADAMANT in fighting Voter ID, which would take away one of the BIGGEST tools of the Dem's:

ELECTION FRAUD

Any government group the Southern Poverty Law Center has spoken to needs be investigated.

The SPLC whips up hatred for conservative Americans providing 'cover' for hatred that leads these groups to 'target' ordinary citizens. It's wrong to target because of skin color - it's ALSO wrong to target people based on their choice of political party.

The big problem here is that I doubt the people involved were attempting to set up harassment of conservative groups relative to liberal groups. The problem here is much bigger than that.

These people were set up to investigate political/partisan groups to see if they qualify for tax breaks.

In these people’s minds liberals and progressives and their groups are not “political” or “partisan.” They’re just normal, the way most people think, the middle of the road.

Conservatives and their groups, OTOH, are “extremist” and “radical” and “dangerous.” These attitudes are so taken for granted they are probably not even conscious most of the time. They assume conservative groups are inherently political and partisan in a way that liberal/leftist/progressive groups are not.

That unconscious assumption is the problem, not so much which individual authorized the harassment.

Lerner says "everyone" was "screaming at" the IRS to stop the flood of money pouring into the 2010 elections through 501(c)(4) groups as a result of Citizens United.

Justice Alito: Hey, that's bullsh*t! And contemptuous of the three separate branches of our government.

The unconscious assumption of which I spoke goes well beyond government officials and regulators, media, etc.

I work in people’s homes here in Florida. Given their choice of books, magazine, etc. laying around it usually isn’t hard to deduce political opinions.

Liberals frequently assume I am also liberal. They “know” that conservatives are stupid and/or inarticulate and/or evil. I am quite obviously intelligent and articulate and I don’t appear to be evil, therefore I must be a liberal.

So they go off on political rants, assuming I will agree. I respond noncommittally, since I’m not there to engage in political discussion.

But it is interesting that liberals make the assumption I will agreed at least 10:1 more than conservatives.

IMO this is due to their assumption that liberalism is “normal,” and conservatism is abnormal if not pathological.

In total agreement. I lived through the days of 1930s and saw the rise and growth of unions. My mother slaved for $4 a week and was always in tears between working and striking. I believe private company unions were good in those days but not nearly as much today. However, I have never believed in any so called ‘public’ employment unions at any level of government. Time has shown that these are breeding grounds for thugs to have their own empires. The paying public has been shut out of the system by bureaucratic self perpetuation and attitudes of imperial control. I have been there and experienced both sides of the table. Public unions should be outlawed . Even a socialist like FDR recognized such for Federal workers.

Myron Greenberg, a wealthy L.A. businessman, received a letter of Audit from the IRS.

Very upset, Myron calls his accountant, Saul Meyers.

Myron: (pleading): “Saul, what are they doing to me? Why are they doing this to me?”’

Saul (calming); “Myron, don’t worry about it. I’ve got all the receipts, the account is up to date, it’s no problem. But let me give you a bit of advice. When you go to the audit, make a bad impression. Wear the crummiest, dirtiest clothes you’ve got. Have holes in your shoes, ripped pants, and look shabby. I mean really look terrible, because if they have a little sympathy, they’ll go easy on you.”

Then Myron called his lawyer, Charlie Steinberg. Charlie replied:

Charlie: “Myron it’s no problem, I’m sure they got the receipts, I’m sure everything is up to date, you’ve got a great accountant, don’t worry about it. Let me give you a tip: when you go to the audit, it’s very important that you make a good impression. Wear your best suit, and your shirt with a silk tie and cuff links and shine your shoes, look like somebody. Because if you look like a somebody, those IRS guys will respect you and will go easy on you.”

And now he’s torn. That night he bumped into his Rabbi at the Mushy’s Deli. And he told the Rabbi the story.

Rabbi: “Myron, it reminds me of sometimes when I perform a wedding. The bride’s father will tell his daughter that on her wedding night to wear a nightgown with a high collar and long sleeves and a full-length robe...cover up, you know, be a little demure. And the mother says, ‘Don’t be silly. Wear a low cut “negligee” with the cleavage sticking out - look a little sexy.’ Myron, I will say to you just like I say to the bride on her wedding night, it makes no difference what you wear, you’re gonna get screwed.”
