Federal authorities are boosting security in the United States after intelligence agencies detected a credible threat to Western interests overseas and the government began closing diplomatic posts in some Muslim countries, according to homeland security officials.
The Department of Homeland Security is increasing security measures at airports, train stations and other transportation hubs, and expanding scrutiny of visitors coming into the United States, two officials told ABC News.
The FBI, meanwhile, is "working sources" and taking other "logical steps" to monitor any potential threat, an FBI official said.

Just as Congress breaks, suddenly a government clampdown. A crowd gathering where a congress critter will be is a threat to security. No townhalls.

Seems interesting and a little scary to me that the specific terror threat alerts that DHS & FBI sent to local law enforcement was ‘classified’. They don’t do that very often. What to make of it?
The day that DHS starts recording all the departures of visa holders from the US, I will take note of their achievement. Until then it is all BS and a jobs program.
Most of the security threats we face came in on a valid visa and overstayed. Round em up.
Well they’re all saying it’s An active...credible... specific and significant threat that is ‘underway’.....
Apparently intercepts between Alqaeda to target/aim for (specifically) Western Interests both inside and outside Yemen...also calling it a significant threat “stream”...
Sounds to me like they see this as very serious and not the norm threat level.....first time the most Embassies closed since 9/11.
We have a new inexperienced national Security Adviser who just may be overplaying her hand....remember she could NOT get the other position because of the same problem...Inexperience.
