That was probably it. He was letting them know they’d been busted - if they really had been. If not, he was warning them against making him look bad.
It’s all a PR stunt, IMHO.

Intelligence officials are dismayed that the administration provided so much detail on what prompted the closings, and that the disclosures could work against obtaining new information. Militants are now likely searching for the sources of the information to both the U.S. and Yemeni officials, and almost certainly will kill anyone they suspect of working with Western intelligence. Why, the Obama gang always discloses their sources on the really big intelligence successes. Recall the Pakistani doctor who was key to locating Bin Laden. SOP for a gang of anti-American incompetents.

I want to know, who it is, what they said and when did they say it. Tired of all this cloak and dagger crap.

Hypothetically, if we had a President who was a muzlim and sympathetic towards Al Quaida and the Muzlim Brotherhood, one could understand why information would be put out there so that those terrorists could abort their plans temporarily and get some pretty good hints as to where the source of leaks came from...
Fortunately for the U.S., we have President Obama in charge...

U.S. officials may have provided too much detail about intercepted chatter
Or the release of intel was designed to deflect the headlines away from Benghazi and NSA and CIA and drones and IRS and Obamacare and FEC, etc.
Considering how the top officials, including the top official, of this administration blatantly LIED for weeks about an obscure video causing riots and the Benghazi attacks, closing a few embassies to deflect attention would not be that out of character.
Rep. Peter King's comment didn't make the situation much better:
Were not certain exactly where something might happen but its very specific as to when and its also very specific as to the fact that it is going to happen, so we have to be on alert everywhere,

He has always been working for the other side. This is what he learned from every mentor he ever had, going all the way back to Frank Marshall David in Hawaii and William Ayers in New York and later in Chicago.
Those in the media who knew what he was did not tell. Shame on them. Do the media not understand that there’s “Left,” and then there is “treasonous Left.”
The treasonous Left have taken over the Democratic Party. They are anti-America and anti-Semitic. The Jews of the party are suffering from cognitive dissonance.
Old time Democrats should be running for the hills or they should start standing their ground. That includes members of Congress. Now, right now, is the time for every member of Congress to hold Obama accountable for every one of his dangerous lies and spills and bogus legislation put together behind the scenes to bring America to her knees.

If it’s not campaign speeches, we won’t hear it from our current federal government.
