I still remember the night that the Massacre at Benghazi hit the news. Two FReepers made comments that stuck with me. One was that this was about illegal U.S. arms in Libya falling into the hands of the islamoterrorists. The other was about an Obama war movie being made about it being called “Stand Down At Benghazi”.
Well, Golly, us paranoid-tin-foil-hat-right-wing-nut-jobs have been saying this ever since it happened.
The GOP is not investigating this arming of Al Qaeda in Syria because the GOP supports arming Al Qaeda in Syria.
“Unless these CIA operatives were on some unholy special mission—and we can speculate on what that might be, but let’s hold off for the moment”
Like they were part of the “attacking force”?
I know, I know this is black helicopter territory but like someone once said, “ Those who are incapable of committing great crimes do not really suspect them in others.”
Also with the SA-7 featured above the target must be silhouetted against bare sky for the seeker to "see" the target. So if I'm a hilltop rebel trying to fire on a helicopter approaching from low in a valley using the SA-7 Grail, then forget it, the missile sees nothing, since there is a mountain behind him.
But After Reagan's air attack against Khadaffi (much later it turned out his daughter was not killed in the raid, as he'd claimed for many years), Khadaffi imported newer Soviet AA missiles, also, like the SA-24 Grinch, below, and THIS is the real problem:
It flies at Mach 2, reaches up above 10,000 feet, and the aircraft needn't be seen against empty sky for targeting. Also the Grinch needn't score a physical hit for detonation --it also comes equipped with proximity fusing, so if senses an impending bypass, it will still trigger. Also if there is remaining fuel, this, too, will be blown in the explosion as a kicker. Even with jamming and flares, about one in four Grinches will score a hit, generally.
What type of success might it get against commercial aircraft in their current form...? The Obama Admin does NOT want to talk about this at all.
Really? Wow. How did I miss that? (rhetorical question, doesn't require a reply)
.................Why, if we had so many counter-intelligence operatives on the scene, did we not know for certain that special forces were needed to preserve the lives at our consulate?.................
That sir is an excellent question! Almost as if it was set up to fail, but then, this administration and State Dept have no clue on how to conduct clandestine operations.
Geez, I miss Dick Cheney!
Anyone who thinks that since its inception the CIA hasn’t been involved in clandestine operations that include the movement of weapons, people, and cash as an instrument of US foreign policy is hopelessly naïve. And anyone that believes the White House can unilaterally act without some degree of consent from leadership from both parties simply doesn’t understand how government works.
“...my belief is we will, in fact, be greeted as liberators.”
Uh, yeah, Dick...
The only honest media is now situated overseas. The UK. Even Pradva fer cryin’ out loud!
Horrors will ensue if the Canadians learn of this.
Romney should have campaigned harder. He had all kinds of ammo he refused to use.
Yes. Like 'citizen journalists', Free Republic was way ahead of the curve.
Bless you Jim Robinson for Free Republic and thank you FReepers for doing the heavy lifting that the MSM can't seem to handle.

Morsi was scheduled to meet with 0bama AT the White House, but it was called off on 09/24/12, well after the attack.
Romney wasn’t running against just 0bama. He was running against Facebook (0bama ILLEGALLY used Facebook user’s information in violation of Facebook’s TOS and CFAA Law), the IRS, the DOJ, the NSA, and the news media, and probably more agencies.
Hillary in 'Hamas green'.
Huma Abedin: "Here, Hillary.. Wear THIS color.."

I have seen reports that indicate that the State Department (Hillary) was giving the Rebels the Javelin Antitank / Smart Mortar System which is Top Secret and some of the Russians newest MANPADS
Anybody know anything more about Javelin?
