The state of Washington has been rightly described as being very liberal.
But historically, and even currently, they have held to standards of a strong right of self defense, and very strong privacy and property rights.
As an example of privacy rights; even though in almost every state, the cops can search your garbage put out by the street, Washington requires the cops get a warrant to search your garbage.
