I’m giving Chuck grief because he’s whining and bluffing as a tactic against continued sequester.
I’ve been doing this Defense thing for over 42 years now, and you won’t find a bigger hawk. (got out of basic training 42 years ago this week)

Hagel is a long ways from my favorite guy, however our military is beung dissembled at this time, and I’m very wary of it.
Me too-almost 50 years, now working in OSD as a furloughed GS-15. The cuts Hagel listed are worst-case:
Army to as low as 350,000 soldiers,
Marines to 150,000,
Air Force cut fighter squadrons and retire old bombers (Buffs? B-2s?—who knows—it’s the USAF!)
Navy to 8 CV strike groups.
Forces haven’t been that small since 1950. Remember what happened that year?
