We shouldn’t get overly excited about this old news. It is not as if Hollyweird was the ONLY US group helping Hitler. Standard Oil, the Kennedys, Lindbergh, father Coughlin, all sorts of folks wanted Hitler to succeed and were delighted to support him.

Context.

Hindsight is 20/20....and do keep in mind that at that time Hitler was far from being the only anti-semitic leader in Europe.

They were far more concerned about Bolshevism (and justifiably so), and they saw at the time Hitler as a buffer against it.

You forgot Henry Ford.
Back then it looked like the alternates were Fascism and Communism. They simply were simply choosing sides (or, given the investments in the Soviet Union, hedging their bets).
