RE: Ill be happy to take one of those 50 jobs
What does America need more of? Jobs financed by the private sector? Or bubble jobs created by government subsidies? Jobs that generate tax revenue? Or jobs that cost $1.3 million in government loans each (see Solar energy projects funded by DOE).
According to the Canadian Energy Research Institute, by 2019 employment directly related to Keystone XL could grow from 80,000 jobs to 179,000. If the flow of Canadian oil through the United States remains unchanged, however, total employment from the Keystone line will peak at 94,000 in 2019.
The respected Perryman Group found that across the entire economy, an increase in stable oil supplies would create 250,348 permanent jobs from gains in U.S. economic activity. Personal income gains from these jobs would amount to $6.5 billion, stimulating $2.3 billion of retail sales.
So, Obama’s projections for employment are so low one wonders who gave him that number : “50 jobs”...
Says it creates just 50 permanent jobs
The same can be said for the 1-10 Freeway.
Reggie Love got it for him.
We’re going to need the oil, though.
He’s just pissed because his namesake-care call centers got busted shafting people with no benefits.
Exactly my thought. Daughter visiting from another state. I was telling her about a main road in our community that a good amount of stimulus money was used to plant trees and shrubs. Those jobs redefined “short term” jobs. Maybe weeks if that!!! Keystone Pipeline will create good paying jobs for at least several years. Why is that so bad?
Obama is a very sick man rotten to the core. That project would create tens of thousands of solid jobs and bring billions into the economy.
And he pisses on it like the deranged leftist he is.
Your family doesn’t need that lousy job, Obama said so after shooting hoops and admiring himself in the mirror.
From the republicans: crickets.
Lying ##$%^&&*&. It will do nothing of the sort. The environment will not even noticer the pipeline. He's doing this to help his buddy who is shipping oil by rail.
He’s stalling on the Keystone XL pipeline, BTW, for very influential constituents who don’t want any more business competition or lower oil prices. As seen in many local government meetings here and there, the environmentalist thing is only a front.
Obama has not one clue about how the economy works, or how jobs are created. If it isn’t a wasteful government project, it doesn’t register on his little brain.
It couldn't be clearer that he has no interest in creating jobs.
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Worth repeating.
Oh, can 0 really be this stupid?
Canada Ping!
Pathetic! A gone who believes that bilge is pathetic as well!
Second, and most importantly, I have noticed that the Democrats/Liberals absolutely hate anything that will energize the traditional engineering and manufacturing segment of the economy. They love the solar/wind/ pie in the sky stuff, but they shake in their boots when good, solid, American muscle will be set loose.
They did the same thing after 9/11 when the country got behind its soldiers, firemen, policemen and other defenders. They could not stand a country with heroes, and worked to undermine it.
The obvious conclusion is they do not want a strong America, in any way, shape or form.
The next anti-liberal, anti-Democrat candidate for President needs to not only come out swinging, but keep swinging all the way through. COMPLETELY ignore the Leftist media -- which means do NOT, EVER, respond to them at all -- go to the people, keep it between you and the people, and you will win. No doubt.
