RINOs running for reelection is a silly effort.
Nothing silly about it. Defund it before it bankrupts us! Restore the constitutional limits on government!!
silly statement from a silly little man.
Well, that's true, but completely beside the point.
I really, really liked him when he was first elected. Washington has changed him. He might as well be McCain now.
what is silly is that republicans in ok and tenn keep sending these big-government leftists back to Congress.
RIP GOP.
I mean it, there is no longer a reason for the backstabbing bastards to exist.
I think the real message here is that the senate will never vote to defund Obamacare. We couldn’t even hold a filibuster against the spending — way too many republicans are not for it.
So the question isn’t “should we defund” (which clearly we should). It is how much political capital to spend on the effort, given that it will fail, and therefore nobody will ever be able to judge the results and realize that we were right about defunding.
So I would not expect the house to stick it’s neck out on the subject. The house would not refuse to fund the government against the wishes of an 80-vote senate bill. Which looks like what they will have.
We never should have talked about “shutting down government”. Every word from republicans should have been “we will pass a bill that funds the government, and keeps everything people need open. We will not vote for money for Obamacare, which is not being implemented as passed to begin with, and which is destroying our health care system.
“We hope that the democrats will not put hard-working government employees out of work, and cut off seniors and those most in need from their government support, simply to throw good money at a bad implementation of a bad bill that even they admit cannot be implemented as written. We pledge not to shut down government — but we cannot force the democrats to vote to keep government open.”
“We call on the democrats to instead join us in repealing the fiasco called “Obamacare”, and to put together a bipartisan solution that actually improves our health care system instead of destroying it. If we can come up with a workable solution to the real issues we will of course fund them — it is time to stop clinging to a hyper-partisan one-party nightmare of a bill that a large majority of the country now realizes was a huge mistake.”
Obamacare is dumbest idea that has gained a foothold since 2008. The very dumbest idea is Cap n Trade, but fortunately the government is display signs of intelligence by rejecting this obvious scam so far.
Ronald Reagan, “ Defeating the USSR is a silly effort.”
Oh wait....
GOP is dead. Nothing but Democrat-lite, defending their accrued power, never to contemplate giving any of it up.
I wish these guys would stop with the realpolitik and just stand on principal, whether it loses them an election or not.
So its silly to be principled? Notice he said “act like he’s principled” which must have been what he was doing when he ran for election. These types need replaced. He is not in some blue state. He’s in a red state and its time to take out this kind of trash.
Vote against those Republicans IMO. This should be the reason for the rise of the conservative politicians.
The Republican Party continues to committ suicide...This base person has already left the reservation and I will only vote for Biblical conservative canidates which was what the Republic was founded on.
I no longer hold my nose an vote for a RINO
The Lesser of evils is still evil and I want no part in it...by the time the illegals get voting we will only have one party rule its only a matter of time till the nation lookss like downtown Detroit
Freegards

There are two issues in front of them right now, and if they fail then there is no purpose to a GOP.
Immigration and Obamacare.
Fail here and the party implodes. And it won’t matter because the republic implodes too.
coburn is not only a traitor to all citizens, he’s a traitor to all doctors as well, being one himself.
Hey, Dorker ... defunding DeathCare IS how we deal with real deficit reduction and spending decisions.
