Obama: I Delayed the Employer Mandate Because I Could. What Are You Gonna Do About it?
PJ Media ^ | 7/29/13 | Hot Air and Byron York,

Posted on 07/29/2013 7:40:55 PM PDT by Nachum

Via Hot Air and Byron York, Barack Obama has crossed the constitutional Rubicon. The die is cast. He realizes as much, and is daring Congress to stop him in the pixels of the New York Times.

NYT: People questioned your legal and constitutional authority to do that unilaterally — to delay the employer mandate. Did you consult with your lawyer?

MR. OBAMA: Jackie, if you heard me on stage today, what I said was that I will seize any opportunity I can find to work with Congress to strengthen the middle class, improve their prospects, improve their security –

NYT: No, but specifically –

MR. OBAMA: — but where Congress is unwilling to act, I will take whatever administrative steps that I can in order to do right by the American people.

And if Congress thinks that what I’ve done is inappropriate or wrong in some fashion, they’re free to make that case…

He continues, delivering his usual boilerplate about how he’s the only one who cares about the three-letter word called “jobs” and the Republicans are just saying “no” to everything.

Then he hits them on their credentials to criticize.

But ultimately, I’m not concerned about their opinions — very few of them, by the way, are lawyers, much less constitutional lawyers.

Nice, coming from a once part-time adjunct professor. One of his fiercest critics, by the way, is Sen. Ted Cruz, who was a state solicitor general and has argued and won cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. Can President Jumpshot claim as much?

From there, the don of the Juicebox Mafia declares that he will do what he wants, so fuggedabout opposing him.

"very few of them, by the way, are lawyers, much less constitutional lawyers."

Considering that the president and his wife no longer have law licenses, I'm not sure who he's talking about?

Obama has no documentation and armed al Qaeda.

Obama left behind the Ambassador and Patriots to die.

Obama freed terrorists and ignored the re-incoming
Boston terrorists.

Is anyone awake ANYWHERE in Congress?

Apparently not.

None will challenge, as that would mark them as racist.

Is anyone awake ANYWHERE in Congress?

They're awake alright.

Half of them don't understand what's going on.

The other half understand it, but they're afraid to do anything.

Congress is awake. All of these politicians are awake. I've just come to the conclusion that they all either just don't care to stand up, will only stand up for show then back down, or they're in on it. Either way, they're all just getting wealthier and enjoying the "perks" of our tax dollars while the rest of us hard working schmucks struggle to get by.

I think we all need to seriously look in the mirror and ask ourselves what our breaking point is. When will THAT line be crossed which causes a mass revolt? Once that line is crossed, will it be too late?

This is the same lame, 2-bit law lecturer who feels the Constitution is a ‘charter of negative liberties’ and that it should be more specific about the amount of central planning that should be imposed on the great unwashed masses.

In the very first sentence, five 'I's and one 'me'. Narcissism on steroids.

Well, what ARE we going to do about it? If Congress won’t act, someone must.

If they won’t do their job, impound their paychecks. Maybe then one or two will find there is not empty space between their legs.

I doubt that even impounding their paychecks will get them to act. The time for talk is past; act now.

And for the NSA trolls, FU.

It will take a miracle from God to save this country and what has this country done, but take God out of every aspect of culture. The United States has thumbed it's nose at God.

This reminds me of the time Abraham was pleading for the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to be spared.
God began by telling Abraham if 50 righteous could be found He would spare them. Finally God said if only 10 righteous be found He would spare them. We all know how this ended up. The wickedness of our country is like a stench in God's nostrils. But like God told Abraham if 10 righteous could be found God would spare the cities.

So is there still hope for this country? I don't presume to know God's thoughts on this matter, But I do know God has provided a way in His Son Jesus to for us to escape the final judgment. So all that know Jesus as their Savior keep looking up as your redemption draweth nigh.

I suppose, since, the Constitution is void the House should pass a law that permits the XL Pipe Line, that, is now the law of the land and let dumBO stop it.

President Obama has indeed violated the constitution by changing laws that he sees fit to change. This is damn clear. The House can vote to impeach, but the voters will have his back and he knows it. The voters are idiots. The Dems in the House and Senate could also put pressure on him, but the days of Congress (even amembers of the same party) aggresively guading their turf are long gone.

The only silver lining in all of this is that Executive orders are as easily un-done as they are written. The next President can simply void them all on his first day in office.

This really misses the point, though. Obama doesn’t believe in compromise or working with a diverse population that is represented in the House. Someone might explain to him that it’s supposed to be difficult to get things done. If Obama were truly skilled, he would find a way to get the things he wants without taking short cuts and breaking the laws. Negotiation is part of the thrill of being a politician I would think. Obama would rather give condescending speeches and hit the golf course, apparently.

My guess is that Obama has been taking short-cuts his entire life. Does he even understand that his unwillingness to work with Congress over Obamacare is ultimately what swept the GOP into the House back in 2010? A schrewd politician would have seen that coming and governed in such a way that the Dems would have kept the House. Obama is not shrewed, though. He’s arrogant, condescending, and obviously criminal...but, that’s what the voters want.
