It helps to read Rove’s book. He started out within the GOP as one of those functionaries. He procured his bona fides with them. Like a local Chamber of Commerce exec trying to make believe he is good at “business” because he represents them before city councils etc. Rove is a wiener. Not much dirt there. But he has become more and more corrupt with his “consulting” deals. He tried to get W by with the skin of his teeth. Always cautious, to a fault. Ended up giving W a terrible approval rating and reputation.

Rove still has some things going for him. Such as his list of donors and other contacts that he brings to whatever candidate he’s working for. Like it or not, Rove has credibility with the media/press and that helps any candidate he works for.

All this will diminish over time as his candidates lose elections and others with better credentials gain power through winning elections. That’s why it’s important to support more conservative candidates, and their campaign managers.

Ed Rollins was another one who reached his Peter Principle of power. Michelle Bachmann made a mistake hiring him and she suffered for it. Rollins used to be one of the major campaign managers until he kept losing.

Heck, I’d hire Democrat Pat Caddell over most of the Republican campaign managers today.

Well, then, there is a silver lining.

He’ll ruin Jeb.
