>> The [G] license is a step up from being a concealed-weapons permit holder.

Depends on where you get the training. I got mine at Miami Dade College; the training was superb.

OTOH, Florida’s CCW “training requirements” are a joke - the industry is populated by no-talent gun shop trolls and bottom feeders. Coffee and Donut (sorry - no time for DonutS) are the norm. An hour or two of BS war stories, then one .22 cartridge shot into a sand-filled barrel and you’re done.

Even courses run by cops have stooped to new lows - from personal experience, the most easily corrected problems - “teacupping”, pushing, fingering and thumbing - are ignored.

NRA’s “First Steps Pistol Orientation” (repeat: Orientation; NOT a course) is about the best you can hope for - most “instructors” use the NRA “Home Firearm Safety” course, if anything at all.

My quals: Current sworn state-certified LE firearms instructor, “K” license holder, Senior Training Counselor for a national pro 2nd amendment organization, ex sworn Federal officer.

All the news point toward a rapid decay of basic human rights, such as the right that law enforcement aren’t criminals.

The constant erosion makes me wonder if this was what pre-war Germany was like, people shrugging off indications of political slavery, saying, “It isn’t that bad or it will get better.”

Trouble is, I don’t know what to do.
