NC Expands Gun Carry Rights To Colleges, Bars & Playgrounds
Freedom Outpost ^ | July 27, 2013 | Tim Brown

This is one of those movements that are in the right direction, though one does wonder how those who have met the requirements to carry concealed were not allowed to carry their weapons in bars and colleges in the first place. However, a new law went into effect on Friday in North Carolina which allows residents in the state with a carry permit to take their firearms into restaurants that serve alcohol, bars, playgrounds and even colleges! You know the gun grabbers are going to be beside themselves on this one, but keep an eye on statistics. I’m sure they will prove this is a step in the right direction.

Amazing enough, the new law (HB937) takes 17 pages to explain! The bill passed earlier in the week and Republican Governor Pat McCrory (Don’t think for a moment that this guy isn’t a RINO, because he is) signed the bill into law. To prove my case about McCrory, listen to how he defended his decision with typical liberal talk about “the children.”

“I just want to make sure that kids are safe,” McCrory said in December, according to WRAL. “The long-term solution I think is not changing any current laws — we’ve got a lot of laws on the books — but taking care of those people who have some serious, serious problems in their minds. I think that’s where a lot of the concentration needs to be. Because if you look at all these incidents throughout the nation, it’s been these loners that have some serious, serious issues. I think that’s the thing we’ve got to concentrate on.”

So what all does the new law allow for my neighbors to the north? When you go out to a bar or a restaurant serving alcohol, you no longer have to go in defenseless, unless the owner specifically prohibits it.

Well done, North Carolinians!

For what it's worth, there's never been a prohibition against carrying guns in bars in Colorado; in fact, as long as one's blood-alcohol content remains below .08%, it's legal to carry and drink.* It's never been a problem.

Keeping and bearing arms on college campuses is a huge deal: college students' lives are just as worthy of being defended as everyone else's.

I've always advised students never to carry and drink, nor have I ever done it.

I mentioned this sort of thing to someone recently and they responded with, "Now we will have more Virginia Tech shootings!" And I tried to explain that the Virginia Tech guy was not exactly adhering to the existing rules, but that if any of the other students had been armed, perhaps the rampage could have been cut short.

The other person didn't buy that. Because Libs don't care about logic.

Or facts. Those items have no place in the libs, so called, thought process. After all, they are so much more enlightened than we nut jobs. (At least in my case. LOL!)

Not to wannabe mass killers: colleges, bars, and playgrounds in NC are no longer mandated by law to be free fire zones...

I am sure they will be holding their breath waiting for another school shooting. Which now that students or teachers could possibly be armed will not happen. Mass killers are crazy, but they are not stupid either. If you want to go out killing as many as you can, not smart to go where victims can shoot back.

Looking forward to all the blue faces.
