If I am not mistaken, only a Jewish woman can give birth to a Jewish child in a mixed religious marriage. In other words, a Jewish man married to a non Jewish woman will not sire any Jewish children.

That is a rabbinic and not a scriptural distinction. You will note that all the genealogies in the Torah are of paternal lineage.
