Medicare doesn't pay for everything. As for the supplemental policy paying or not paying, there are many different policies and many different companies providing, so, the general rule is that the more you pay, the better the coverage.

From my perspective, the Advantage Plan is/was a better deal than supplemental coverage.

Her issue was that she did not want the possibly free colonoscopy. The doc offered a stool test. Apparently the government will pay butt loads ( no pun intended) of money for a colonoscopy but will not pay for an inexpensive hemoccult test.
