Engineers from Indiana have managed to hack the software that runs the electronics in a 2010 Toyota Prius and Ford Escape, pictured, so that the brakes, steering, speedometer and the car's electronics can be controlled remotely using a laptop................This is scary.

A new way for the CIA to kill people, or have they been using it for years.

Mmmm....that means that it IS possible to cause someone’s car to ram a tree at 100 mph in the middle of the night.

Well, the GOOD thing is that you could follow your dream and smash into those cars with 0bama stickers, claiming that you were hacked and had no control.

Are there any recently-made cars that still have mechanical links between the driver and the car?

Lo Jack has some of this capability along with On Star. The police can shut down the cars systems to catch a thief or hijacker. Don’t know the technical side of it but Orwell, we are here.

This story also could be the basis for a thriller movie plot or some serial murder plot on television.

I’m taking this with a little grain of salt here.
The lights in this vehicle are analog. I don’t see how you turn them on electronically. I don’t see how you control the steering or brakes either.
Perhaps things worked different in 2010, as mine is a 2006, but I’m still shaking my head here.
