Hi Jim—
After my credit card info was stolen (geez, what a HASSLE that’s been) ALL of my accounts had to be deleted, including my monthly donation to FReep.
Just got back on line and re-upped for the monthly contribution —worth every penny!!
What I want to know is HOW someone got my credit card information!! Whenever I buy anything these days, I have to put my card number, security code, last 4 digits of SSN and usually answer a security question.
Yet, someone was able to charge $1,400 to United Airlines with nothing but the numbers on the front.
Hope United Airlines EATS IT (bank told me the same thing).
Bon
Goodness! So sorry that happened to you, Bon.
Have you tried a credit protection service like Lifelock?
Hello Bon,
Don’t know how it happens, but it just happened to me (again) last week. Someone used my number and tried to make a $600 purchase down in the LA area. My credit card company called me to confirm, but it was not me so they’re now replacing my card. Second time it’s happened to me (different banks).
Woo hoo!!
And this just in:
$50.00 from Ohio
$100.00 from Minnesota
$10.00 monthly from California (renewal)
$15.00 monthly from Delaware (renewal plus increase)
Thank you all very much!!
Your loyal support keeps FR alive and is greatly appreciated!!
FReepers ROCK!!
