Fox News parent co. funneling money to Dems?

The popular perception in America is that while most major media networks lean left, Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation – owner of Fox News, the Wall Street Journal and New York Post, for example – is a bastion for conservatives.

The record of News Corp’s campaign contributions, however, doesn’t paint the same picture.

According to data accumulated from the Federal Election Commission by the Center for Responsive Politics and published on OpenSecrets.org, the total contributions by News Corp political action committees, employees and their families favored Democrats by a more than 2-to-1 margin in the 2012 election.

Similarly, News Corp contributions favored Barack Obama over challenger Mitt Romney by a better than 5-to-1 margin.

All by itself, News America Holdings, News Corp’s political action committee, was more “fair and balanced” in its contributions but still granted 52 percent of its more than $300,000 spent on federal elections to Democrats and 48 percent to Republicans.

The top three recipients of campaign cash from News Corp in 2012 were, in order, the Democratic National Committee, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and Democrat presidential incumbent Obama.

Thus far in spending toward the upcoming 2014 mid-term election, News Corp is still favoring Democrats with a reported 62 percent of its total campaign donations.

I'm close to ditching Fox News or quitting some more shows on the channel. Don't like moves and format. Using alternative sources.

They do little or nothing to change the conversation and never have.

Fox News, News Corp. and Rupert Murdoch have never been conservative by any stretch. They’re all big-government globalists whose world view is completely at odds with basic American principles of freedom and liberty.

For US news, FOX is all I get here in the Philippines, but I rarely watch it now. Every time I go there, I see that fatso Beckel, Juan the Moron, or Colmes.
America is going down the tubes. I do not need to watch it on TV. I get my news here on FR.

I stopped watching Fox News years ago because I noticed that they were profiting of a conservative perception; yet their news reporting was far from conservative.

It doesn’t surprise me, I see they have gotten on the gay agenda with the hiring of lesbian Sally Kohn in the ‘news’ division.

fox is more like msnbc than the old fox... I have been watching since they went up on C-Band satellite and before any cable companies had them. They used to be about the truth in news... then came “fair and balanced” and now they are “unfair and biased” with a gay flair between 6 and 7 PM.

They are hard left... they just have a few Conservatives these days... most new hires are communists.

They have a Foreign Corrupt Practices threat hanging over them due to the problems in the U.K. That can cost them dearly including all their broadcast licenses in the U.S. Who can trigger it, why Attorney General Holder of course. We all know what an honorable nonpartisan man Holder is and how the Obama admisistration treats percieved enimies. I think that’s the reason. FOX News has moved more left.
