When you are a liberal you are not allowed a mind of your own. You MUST go with the Borg or you will be chastised.
We need to use the left’s own tools against them. For years, they’ve gotten away with saying they want abortion safe, legal and rare. Well, let’s make it safe by ensuring abortion providers must meet the same strict standards of other medical professionals. Regulate them right out of existence if they can’t provide high quality care.
We can also save a lot of children by enacting reasonable restrictions, like no second or third trimester abortions. The left can’t win this argument, because three months is plenty of time to make a choice. Are they seriously going to argue they need more time to kill the developing child? It’s an argument they’ll lose.
No. We can win the war against abortion by slowly tightening the screws. The left knows this, and that’s why they’re so vehemently opposed to any restrictions whatsoever. However, it’s a winning strategy.
I know some want an immediate, nationwide ban on abortion. That’s probably not politically achievable at this point. What we can do is slowly move the country to an eventual ban. Anything is good so long as it advances the cause of life.
Bottom line: let’s use the left’s own rhetoric against it. Abortion: safe, legal and rare! What’s so unreasonable about that, eh?
