Steve Deace, an influential Christian conservative

This makes the rest of this article suspect at best. Steve Deace was an influential Christian conservative but gave up the most powerful (secular) pulpit in Iowa (following Rush Limbaugh on WHO radio in Des Moines) and now almost no one listens to him.

And no one (at least in Central Iowa) knows or pays any attention to Sam Clovis.

Think what you want about Rubio, but don't put much weight on what this says about what is happening in Iowa.

I just checked out Clovis on YT. He seems like an okay guy, but looks like he could literally explode at any minute. Chris Christie looks like a paragon of health compared to him. Not a good look for getting elected.
