Obama said that race may have played a strong role in the case had it been a 'white male teen', both the outcome and the aftermath of the killing might have been different.
The US president Barack Obama has reportedly addressed the Trayvon Martin case publically for the first time after George Zimmerman was acquitted a week ago, and said that he could relate to the ‘pain’ felt by the black community and further questioned the ‘stand-your-ground’ laws.
According to the Fox News, Trayvon Martin was a Florida teen who was shot dead in February 2012 while unarmed. Obama said that race may have played a strong role in the case had it been a ‘white male teen’, both the outcome and the aftermath of the killing might have been different.
Obama used highly personal comments and said that Martin could have been him 35 years ago and aimed his comments to put the angst in the black community in ‘context’.
The report said that the ‘stand-your-ground’ laws allow people to use lethal force if they feel threatened, even if they might have the option of retreating.

A President who uses his bully pulpit to mock and taunt Americans, who incites his followers to be confrontational, creates an atmosphere of incivility and violence.
Jim, for all we really know about him, even now, he could have exhibited all of those symptoms 35 years ago, and may still be a serial something-or-another, (aside from a serial liar}, in the DC community as we type! jus sayin’.. :)

We don’t have a president, we have a biased community organizer who was and is too small a person to be POTUS. It’s not his race, it’s his small, biased mind. Reading commentary from the protests today, people in the crowd said they felt emboldened by his “superlative” leadership in speaking from an entirely black perspective yesterday. As POTUS and THe Great Uniter, he was supposed to bring us together and speak from an entirely American perspective which would not soundly exclude the man (and his family) whom the courts legally found innocent of a committing a crime. With his comments, Obama condems a man the courts found innocent, and he uses the podium of the POTUS to do it. If harm comes to Zimmerman, Obama is partially responsible - that is his leadership at work.
