The mayor of Detroit was on ABC news-talk this AM, saying how he wants to work with the feds (ie extort more money). What he did say that was interesting is that Detroit is succeeding with downtown expansion and touristy things. Add to that, they've got a port and a lakeside. With all of those assets and a relatively small population, they should be told to figure it out.

Rand Paul got this one right. More money to Detroit is enabling and rewarding mismanagement.

Or some court will rule for equal protection even though cities aren’t people. Wait, they’re corporations, so they are.

The parasitic ticks are winning...

but the dog is dying.

Once the dog is dead... all of the ticks will die too...

because they have or will have already killed off all of the ‘other’ dogs, as well.

And the ignorants continue to “suck” on.....

It’s a feeling of utter helplessness and frustration... watching this happening but not being able to do anything to stop it.

I guess it’s a feeling that many others have had throughout the history of the world, while watching their country, their society and their civilization being dragged into that historical “dustbin”...and quite deliberately, it seems. But that isn’t exactly a comforting thought. I doubt that there even IS a comforting thought at this point.

“just like he did in Benghazi.”

And with Hastings.

“A lot of conservative laugh at the blue cities and states that are going bankrupt. What they don’t realize is that the administration will bail out all of them with the nations tax dollars.”

Nobody with a brain and an ounce of common sense is laughing, Doc. Only some CINOs, perhaps, that never could get a clue on the big picture (tunnel vision).

"What most people outside MI do not know is that Colman Young and his cronies helped to create a toxic relationship between Detroit and rest of the state, especially the northern suburbs of Detroit."

None more racist or corrupt. Detoilet was a rich, middle-class liberal utopia for the first 3/4's of the 20th century. That changed exponentially after Young was elected.

My extended family fled Detoilet in the '60's and early '70's. When Young was elected in '74, Detoilet went down hill in spectacular fashion. Unions, race baters, and democRats killed the goose that laid the golden egg.

True, but as of now, he is one of the few with the balls to tell it like it is. So far, he’s ahead of the pack by a few lengths.

The ‘leadership’? Nary a PEEP on any scandal, except to bolster the DEMs position (aka Amnesty).

Please, I am a lady, so could you please use the proper word and not a vulgarity when you mean “courage”? Thank you.

;) My apologies....his testicular fortitude.

I’m hesitant to write what I think of M. Bachmans lack of the same though (being testicular-ly lacking)

Thanks.

“Intestinal fortitude” would be a good one.

I know a lot of people here, male and female, get annoyed with my old lady scoldings, but I really feel that we need to restore some old-fashioned etiquette to our public discourse. When I was growing up in the 1950s and ‘60s, it was considered very low class for a woman to use four-letter words, and gentlemen cleaned up their language in the presence of ladies.

Then came the 1970s. Many women decided that modest dress and saving themselves for marriage was just too old fashioned and that the f-bomb was now a cool word to use. It’s been downhill, ever since, IMO.

“...Interestingly, he is taking on the neocons straight out ...”

Liking that... Someone has to, and it’s about time.
