No, it is really in scarce supplies. Very scarce.

What we have today are not journalists. They are propagandists and PR press release tweakers.

I often wonder if the soviet-era propagandists were as gleefully willing as our current media to slide into communism

As someone who used to work in the biz, I can say you are are dead on right with your characterization. Most of the so-called "journalists" I worked with were literally incapable of doing more than re-writing press releases. They knew nothing except for what the PR hacks and the AP wires told them.
