I went through something similar in the 80’s.
I was a very successful activities director in a New England Kosher Nursing Home. My residents had full, enjoyable lives as we covered all types of religious, entertainment, cultural, and artistic activities as well as therapeutic programs that promoted orientation, memory awareness, and personal histories in the context of recreation. We had an Opera Club, Current Events Discussion Groups, Arts and Crafts, a Book Club, a room that was a mock-up of a late 19th Century New York Apartment complete with Sabbath Table and treadle Sewing machine, etc. We even did an abridged production of “Fiddler on the Roof” complete with costumes and props.
In spite of this, when the STATE decided to embark upon a path to licensing, one of the criteria was a liberal arts degree, which I lacked. I was “let go” in favor of a recent college graduate, of a minority persuasion, who neither knew nor cared anything about Jewish People and didn’t give a rat’s ass about their personal and unique cultural history. (I had lots of Holocaust Survivors as residents...and I don’t think my successor even KNEW what that meant!)
I have since had a successful career as a solo musician and music teacher, and do not have advanced degrees in THOSE disciplines EITHER.

And you don't even have a Doctorate in Theology!
You have a deep understanding of the Torah, and Jewish Tradition.
And you host a prayer thread for Jerusalem EVERY day, (yet you are a strong Christian!)
