This kind of thing happens all the time, with every type of aircraft. I’ve been a passenger on a flight that did this once, and in my airline days I worked several flights where something similar happened.

I was on a jet landing at Wichita when the plane started making really loud screeching noises. I remember all the other passengers and I were looking at each other wondering what the heck was going on.
I later talked to a United Air pilot who must have been close to retirement. He said it was probably an air bearing (whatever that is), and that it was not really serious.
