Not really. He’s not as conservative as some of the recent Tea Party elected to Congress, but Enzi is pretty solid where it counts. He does retail politics in WY, and I’ve seen the guy speak.
Cheney is clearly not the choice here. The biggest tip-off is that she decided to plump her little rump down in Jackson, WY. Anyone who runs for office in this state (Wyoming, where I live) who is located in Jackson, has to overcome the state-wide perception that people from Jackson are wealthy, well-connected, self-important jerks. The reason why people in the rest of the state have that perception is because (drum roll please) it’s largely true.
I already know how I will be voting on this issue, and it won’t be for Cheney.
I was born in Wyoming and have traveled the state extensively. I would be surprised if there are more than about 50 or 60 towns with more than 600 people. It takes longer to drive between most of them than to hold an event there.
As I've said on other threads, I'd trust the voters of Wyoming more to elect U.S. Senators (or a president) more than I would 90% of the rest of the country.
