House Majority Leader Eric Cantos (R-VA) will lead a tour of House leaders next week aimed at educating Americans, and each other, about the history and importance of immigration to the United States. The tour, dubbed the "Become America" tour, will feature events and speeches aimed at overcoming opposition to the passage of comprehensive immigration reform, which has stumbled amidst opposition from conservatives.
(snip)
The trip is being coordinated by the non-profit Faith & Politics Institute, and will include members of both parties, such as Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL), a persistent advocate of amnesty for illegal immigrants. In April, Guiterrez told a wealthy audience in Chicago that they owed it to the people who "wash the dishes" and "take care of your kids and mow your lawn" to support a path to U.S. citizenship for illegal aliens.

It would be nice if they did tours on things like the anemic growth of our economy or the out-of-control nature of federal bureaucracies like the IRS and the EPA before they considered tours on less pressing issues like granting citizenship to millions of Democratic-leaning illegals.

I am so pissed off about this I just called my congressman. Fat lot that will do though. I am ready to campaign against him. I can spend up words of 60 hours a week for a good candidate.

The unpleasant task by which the Overlords have to mingle among the unwashed Peasantry to “educate” them.
After all, the Overlords have such greater understanding of these matters. You can tell that by their track record in the District of Corruption, what?

They want to ethnic cleanse us out of existence. Black, white - it doesn’t matter. Everything for mexicans who are invading.

House Leaders to Educate Voters About Immigration: 'Become America'
Reminder House Leaders - YOU WORK FOR "WE THE PEOPLE". Get busy and defund Obamacare, cut the monster debt that is eating us alive. No one is asking you to do anything about illegal aliens or dreamers except those who cannot vote and whom you do NOT represent.

What kind of events would cause any American to drop opposition? Obama gives away Obamaphones. What do the House Pubbies offer [as bribes]?
Speeches? Haven't they speechified enough? Okay, give ONE speech that is NOT packed with deceptions, misconceptions, outright lies. The content would then be negligible, because they cannot give a speech about illegal immigration that is not packed with misconceptions, deceptions, lies.

We need to decrease legal immigration too. Enough of this foolishness. There isn’t anything racist about wanting to live in the USA instead of mexico or Brazil or the former Yugoslavia.

Was listening to Michelle Bachman on the House floor last night (C-Span) - she was killing her RINO counterparts on immigration.
I'm gonna' miss her.

Are they also going to point out what immigrants once did to become a citizen? They certainly didn’t do it the way it is being proposed today. Once upon a time we were a nation of laws and it meant something.

The Gelding Old Party is dead.
Not yet.
There are still enough hangers-on who think they can reform it from within. They have been hanging onto that since about 2004. They have been hanging onto that every time the GOP sticks a finger in their eye, every time the GOP folds, every time the McCains and Grahams and Ryans and Boehners reach across the aisle and acquiesce to what the Dems want.

Yep. IMO, future elections will be slugged-out between hard core Socialists and Libertarians.
To: Timber Rattler
The big lie is being perpetuated.
Why not go back to the immigration policy of 1950 and leave it at that?
Or is the intent perhaps to make America a 3rd world country?

In July 2003, then-congressman Tom Tancredo (R-Colorado)gave
Insight Magazine the following account of his conversation in Mexico with Juan Hernandez, head of the newly created Ministry of Mexicans Living in the United States. According to Mr. Tancredo:
I asked about the purpose of the government agency he heads, since I had never heard of such a thing. He said its purpose is to increase the flow of Mexican nationals to the United States. I asked, Why?
"It serves Mexico's needs, he said, and ticked off a list of such things as remittances to Mexico of $10 billion a year, which is 30 percent of the Mexican GDP [gross domestic product]. It provides employment for an exploding population, it alleviates social instability due to rising unemployment and it provides training for Mexicans, ultimately repatriating those skills back to Mexico.
"I responded to his final aim - repatriation of trained and skilled Mexicans back into Mexico - and asked, Then your government would oppose amnesty for the illegal Mexicans in the United States?
"He cried, Oh no! We support amnesty totally. . . . by populating the United States with millions of Hispanics who are tied economically, politically and linguistically to Mexico, we are able to exert enormous influence and pressure on U.S. policy and its dealings with Mexico.
"President Vicente Fox believes the U.S. border is a figment of the imagination. In fact, Fox and/or members of his government stated at one point that the borders of Mexico extend much farther north than currently drawn on the map.

Or is the intent perhaps to make America a 3rd world country?
Shortly after BJ left the WH, he gave a speech at Georgetown U [IIRC]. In it he cautioned that America needs to be nicer to 3rd world countries because we may just be becoming one of them.
In about the same time-frame, Mattie 'the Maid' Albright gave a speech in Dominican Republic or one of the island nations. In it she said basically cautioned the same thing.

GHWBush didn't hide that he was a one-worlder. GWBush pushed in the same direction.

I have a uneasy feeling that the essence of your question is exactly the direction the elitest/weathly (foreign and domestic) are aiming for.

Cantor (and Ryan and Rubio) can GTH.
No means no. Rewarding criminal behavior is wrong. Enforce existing law and STFU.
