note to preppers: siphon off a pint/month and freeze the cells

Some entrepreneurial type could probably make some money doing that....allowing people to set aside their OWN blood for possible use by themselves, or another person they designate...kinda like giving away a kidney (which a friend of mine did.)

After Creepy Ass-Cracker Marshall Duer-Balkind, 30, exited a blood donation center on Friday morning, he held up a long green form as evidence that he had been rejected as a blood donor.

How about letting potential recipients or their physicians know the status of the blood donor and have the option of refusing a unit without any potential penalty? I think anyone, who lies about his potential exposure to AIDS who subsequently passes HIV to a recipient, should be subject to serious criminal and civil liability.

A few years back I had my hip replaced at a large Boston hospital. The surgeon told me that I was likely to lose enough blood during the procedure to require a transfusion and he advised me to have my own blood stored beforehand so I could get it back during the surgery.I was surprised how *strongly* he recommended it...almost as if he didn’t fully trust the local blood supply.Maybe he had good reason...they don’t call it “The Gay State” for nothing.

If perverts are allowed to give blood they must be required to clearly identify themselves before donation, each drop they give should be clearly labeled “taken from a pervert” and the law should say that it can *only* be given to other perverts.

Autologous donations can only be stored for 60 days. After that, the blood has to be discarded.

I'm not allowed to give blood merely for the reason that I was in England for several weeks
22-25 years ago when the Mad Cow disease scare was in progress.
Sorry gays - there's all kinds of consequences to your lifestyle choices. Infecting the rest of the population shouldn't be one of those choices that I have to accept.

Remember, it is the recipient/patient that is endangered by the donor. Thus these protestors want the ‘RIGHT’ to potentially ENDANGER (based upon known and statistically-proven lifestyle choices) anonymous recipients for emergency use at a time when their logical decision making is a premium.
As a 100+ Gallon blood donor, I have been turned down many times for a donation at a time when I was outside the parameters. While disappointed I realized that this was the effort by the blood bank / FDA organizations to make the blood donations as safe as possible, rather than as is socially acceptable.
As an aging American, I much prefer the safe is best attitude!

Gay doners should be allowed. The blood that they donate should be givin only to other gays who need blood.

“he drive was planned to help draw attention to the number of potential blood donors who are automatically disqualified due to their sexual orientation.”
That’s a lie. I’ve given blood many times and no one asks donors a single question about “sexual orientation”. What donors are asked about is sexual behavior. Someone who suffers from SSA disorder can donate all the blood he wants as long as he’s a celibate virgin.
