The tragedy occurred when the perp physically assaulted another person beating him around the head and face, busting his nose, and then pounding his head into the pavement, clearly with intent to kill. That’s not the civil way for a human being to act. Something lacking in his upbringing.

Given that those are usually rather conservative types, I’d guess that a combination of divided family and allowing his son into the Miami-Dade County Pooblik Skrewl Collective were significant factors in the decline of Trayvon Martin from football team to street thug and burglar.
