Mr. T and I have been taking turns for the last month or so sleeping downstairs on the couch to be with our eldest now that he can't get up and down the stairs. We're both exhausted. Other than that, things are fine, thank goodness.
How are you and yours?

"The Court must be living in another world. Day by day, case by case,
it is busy designing a Constitution for a country I do not recognize."~Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia

Bryan and I are fine.
Miss Hissy Slashy is doing great now that we’re having her groomed every 4-6 weeks.
Shadow is her usual feisty self.
Lucas Prince of Darkness is getting a little long in the tooth. He’s 14 years old, and very
thin, but he loves sitting on my shoulder and getting pets and treats, so he’s pretty much
all right as well.
We’re hoping that he gets at least as old as my Rocket was (17), or he may even make
it to Tiger’s age (19). She died in 2002.
Miss HS likes being groomed? Is that unusual?
"Robert F. Kennedy used to say, 'Some men see things as they are and ask why.
Others dream things that never were and ask why not?';
that outlook has become a far too common and destructive approach to interpreting the law."~Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia

"Now the Senate is looking for 'moderate' judges, 'mainstream' judges.
What in the world is a moderate interpretation of a constitutional text?
Halfway between what it says and what we'd like it to say?"~Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia
Address to Chapman University students in 2005
She hated every moment of her pre-grooming shots and evaluation. I was in the examination room while they took her into the hospital
for her rabies shot and exam. She hissed and screamed at them the entire time, and she didn’t let up until they brought her back to me.
They were going to give her a general because she objected so strenuously to being touched, but they couldn’t do that every month, for
it would be very bad for her in the long run.
They tried the happy juice, and it worked out very well. She is much more comfortable without the thatch and with a neat potty trim.
Also, since it’s much milder than a general, there is no problem treating her with it every four to six weeks.
It’s very nice to see her and feel her with a beautifully soft and shiny coat. She is just so much better. We are very happy with the job
they did, and she is obviously happy with it as well.
A snarled coat can cause skin infections, which can be dangerous. Thank goodness for wise and caring Doctors.

"Individuals who have been wronged by unlawful racial discrimination should be made whole;
but under our Constitution there can be no such thing as either a creditor or a debtor race.
That concept is alien to the Constitution's focus upon the individual.
...To pursue the concept of racial entitlement - even for the most admirable and benign of purposes
- is to reinforce and preserve for future mischief the way of thinking
that produced race slavery, race privilege and race hatred.
In the eyes of government, we are just one race here.
