Isn't Zimmer in German a room (for rent) or is it Tzimmer?

when one travels to Germany and Austria and asks for a Zimmer, it usually means a room to rent, no?

Jews used to be carpenters and all other trades, the only Jews still working hard by the labor of their own hands (in a general sense) are the Israelis, no?

No.

Why are you passing along stereotypes with no real basis?

My mechanic is an observant Jew. I've had observant Jewish roofers, handymen, plumbers, etc. My friend's daughter's husband is a furniture designer/builder. Oh yeah, and veterinarians, accountants, attorneys, and doctors.

“Isn’t Zimmer in German a room”

Yep, but going by the web (I only have a smattering of German) the Zimmer part is actually a corruption of Zimber (wood).
