I suspect it was the confrontation with the owner. It probably was not handled well.

I suspect no matter how well he handled it the owner would have complained.

I’m sure it was handled better than the employee breaking the car window so the dog can breathe!

I agree.

Anyone know what the temperature was that day and time when the incident took place? It’s one thing if it was noon ant the temperature was 80 heading up and another if it was 8 pm and 70 with the sun setting. It is the sun’s energy that heats up the car above the outside air temperature and to a minor extent the dogs body heat.
