Former Gov. McGreevey to head Jersey City jobs commission
Jersey Journal ^ | July 12, 2013

In a bombshell announcement, Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop said today that former Gov. Jim McGreevey will take the helm of a city commission dedicated to job creation and training.

McGreevey, 55, who served for two years as governor before resigning in disgrace in 2004, will also create and implement a re-integration program for ex-offenders being released from state prison and county jails, according to Fulop's office.

“Gov. McGreevey has worked hands-on with the inmate population and with re-entry programs and will be a valuable asset to us as we develop a re-entry program for Jersey City,” Fulop said in a statement. “We are fortunate to have such a distinguished and knowledgeable individual to lead what is one of the most critical positions.”

The new post, which will come with a $110,000 salary, is another step in the political rehabilitation of McGreevey, who famously came out as gay before stepping down as governor.

Sending McGreevey to prison was like sending him to Club Med. So many tallywhackers and cornholes, so little time.

I had thought he was studying to become an Episcopal priest.

I understand he couldn't even meet their standards. All that was left for him was a $110,000 spot on the public dole.

New Joisey: home of Snooki, McGreevey, Krispie-Kreme Christie, Sharpe James and the Sopranos. Oh yeah, and a man-eating great white shark that killed 5 people off the coast of NJ in 1916. You don’t need a GPS to find your way through Joisey; the stench from the landfills lets you know you’ve found New Joisey.

Do Rat politicians destroy their careers when they get caught doing something illegal? Why no! They just get a ‘time out’.

Same deal with Mark Sanford and David Vitter. I'm afraid you can't pin this just on the Dems.

He will be fine as long as the men’s rooms at City Hall have glory holes...Otherwise he will have to drive 15 minutes to the Vince Lombardi service area on the NJ Turnpike for a “Nooner.”

Only old school Bensonhurst-types say “joisey.” Snooki and the rest of the Jersey shore cadt were from Staten Island. Most North Jerseyites talk like Anthony Bourdain, while South Jerseyites talk like Chuck Barris.
