I actually had a nightmare last night about tigers being taken in by my unsuspecting family and friends at the same time as the SHTF politically and everyone very suddenly beginning to realize that they had been sleeping until it was too late. Rodney King was 1992. This is 2013. Back then, they were rioting in the cities simply with race-hate. Today, they have the weight of a nation-state behind them, with full White House support, and they know it.

While I agree that the initial 24-48 hours of the riots would be confined to the urban kraals, once the loot (and the food) is pillaged there, they will spread out to the suburbs. Now remember one thing: there are Section 8 enclaves out in the ‘burbs, as well. Gangsta-thug culture is not only an urban phenomenon; the thugocracy is out here too.

I think the hinterlands outside the city beltways will stand against the brown tide, but also remember the trendy zip codes are populated largely by people who commute into the city for work and play - and they’re largely Leftists, and therefore not only unarmed, but easily cowed by the approaching hordes and will scream for Odinga to open his stash and save them. Sheep for the shearing.
