The point is cultural, not moral. Even if there are whores there, that doesn’t mean that it’s ok to send a notorious madame as the ambassador. People in the Spanish Caribbean don’t like or approve of open, blatant homosexuality. To send an openly homosexual ambassador is like saying to them, “ You are not men, you are a nation of faggots, so we are sending you a faggot ambassador.”
