I was just thinking that myself. No matter where he goes or what he does, he is going to have eyeballs on him and on everything he does for the rest of his life.

Snowden’s mistake was not first being elected to office or working for the NYT.

So he chooses to go through Russia....

The more I hear about this the more I am thinking that he really doesn’t exist, he is a made up character being used to distract us from the real problems.

So he will be spending the rest of his life in that bastion of civil liberties, Venezuela?

I hate to tell you he will probably be freer there than here. They don’t stick their hand down your pants at the airport and nuke you with naked body scanners. They don’t have smart meters watching every kw you use.

No toilet paper is going to be a beach though. :-)

"America is a fundamentally good country. We have good people with good values who want to do the right thing. But the structures of power that exist are working to their own ends to extend their capability at the expense of the freedom of all publics."

"I don't want to live in a world where everything that I say, everything I do, everyone I talk to, every expression of creativity or love or friendship is recorded. And that's not something I'm willing to support, it's not something I'm willing to build and it's not something I'm willing to live under." ~ Edward Snowden, American Patriot

I suspect the Russians are getting a bit tired of all this. Before too long, they will probably provide him with a pistol, one bullet and the advice that it is time for him to do the right thing.

You could continue to try. Oh wait, they censor the internet down there, don't they? All the anti-Chavez posts on FR would probably cause it to be blocked. But at least there isn't any TSA.

So...when you moving there?

Are you subtly giving the order, Comrade, or are you a mere pilot for NSA Airlines?
