Pretty well known from open source information that this has been going on from day one. The real question is why the military waited so long; probably a combination of things, not least of which was allowing the idiot Morsi enough rope to hang himself with his own incompetence and corruption.

The Egyptian military was promised by Morsi that he would get money out of the Saudi’s. Which he did, 1.5 billion in 3 - .5 billion chunks.

The last .5 billion, Morsi scored about a month ago. However, Morsi was told by the Saudi’s, no more for at least a year. So the military knew that Morsi’s use as a bag man was over.

Morsi hears about the military grumbling and two weeks ago got the Saudi’s to send enough fuel to open up all the closed gas stations, that had closed over the last year.

Wasn’t good enough, when Hani was assassinated, that tipped over the Generals.

BTW, the media has completely missed this story and has ignored the influence of the Copts.

The Christian Copts are said to be about 10% of the population but are in fact closer to 18% and they control about 65% of Egypt’s wealth.

Combine them with the military that controls about 25% of Egypt’s wealth and the salafists are not going to hold onto power unless they rule wisely, which they have not.
